TROY HAWKE

http://www.milomccabe.co.uk/

Troy Hawke is an erudite homeschooled 1930's throwback, the Errol Flynn of the high street. Educated, sophisticated, but utterly clueless. He tackles modern issues head on in his uniquely untimely manner.

Troy is the dapper alter-ego of acclaimed character comic Milo McCabe.  A hive of mad invention, Milo has been delighting audiences with his disarming and brilliant creations for years.  Troy is without doubt his finest yet: channelling the finest elements of the timeless, clueless English chap and popping him into the chaos of the modern world, Milo has created a winning formula that sees his take the roof off clubs and festival rooms up and down the country.

"Undeniably funny." Chortle

JESSICA FOSTEKEW

For over a decade Jess has been a whirlwind of comic invention, poignant acting and hilarious linguistic goofing about.  She’s as at home over-sharing the truths of motherhood or being bawdily funny as she is showing off her impressive jester’s intellect or performing one-woman mini-plays about the absurd minutiae of British life that have the laser accuracy of Alan Bennett.

Jess has also been a hugely acclaimed and in demand writer for several years, working on top shows such as Have I Got News For You, 8 Out of 10 Cats and The News Quiz.  She has also appeared in Psychoville, from the makers of League of Gentlemen, Holly Walsh and Graham Linehan’s new show Motherland and regularly hosts BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club.

BRENDON BURNS

BRENDON BURNS

https://brendon-burns.squarespace.com/

If we were to use one word to describe Brendon Burns’ career it’d be “interesting”.

This is not your everyday comic. Older, wiser, calmer (and after being fitted with a hearing aid, infinitely quieter) Brendon’s energy is still enticing. His turn of phrase is coarse yet oddly eloquent, whilst remaining fully accessible and intensely loveable. Never pompous and ever self-deprecating he just somehow seems to get away with murder. Not so much an “edgy truth-sayer” but a traditionally harmless and inclusive warm-hearted court jester. His influence is ubiquitous throughout the stand up world. Often replicated but never matched, his shows aren’t just extended sets, Burns specialises in creating experiences: forever experimenting with the form and throwing himself new challenges.

Ask around and you’ll find every comic on the international scene has a funny Brendon Burns story. A, “They were there the night he…” tale.  His talent and infamy have earned him the biggest prize in British comedy - best show at the Edinburgh Fringe 2007.  In the decade since that Brendon has become the archetypal road comic, travelling the world in search of new challenges and different audiences, especially with his taboo-busting 'Dumb White Guy' podcast, asking the questions others fear are too stupid or insulting, to help break down barriers of race, gender and sexuality.  He has also spent more time gigging in unusual venues - including a tour of fan's living rooms!

Sure he’s critically acclaimed, a comic’s comic and something of a cult figure. But, above all, he’s… well… interesting.

“A comedians’ comedian… a perennial mischief-maker.” ★★★★ Chortle

“His peers are not other stand ups but more from the literary World. Burns is the William Burroughs and Charles Bukowski of stand up.” The Guardian

“Not only has he been pushing back the boundaries of taste for years, I’m quite certain he has no idea where they are.” Jimmy Carr

GEORGE EGG

http://www.georgeegg.com/

Funny, inspiring and absurd in equal measure, cross-genre stand-up comedian and anarchic chef George Egg’s uniquely brilliant act is as much a comedy set as it is an illustrated lecture. George Egg is the comedian who cooks.  Unique and genre-defining, he makes food onstage using unexpected equipment and unconventional methods. And he makes you laugh too. In 2015 George took his debut solo show ‘Anarchist Cook’ to the Edinburgh Fringe. The show, a comical guide on how-to-cook-in-a-hotel-room, was a total sell out and won him the Spirit of The Fringe Award. This success was followed by a two-year tour of the show that took him to Holland, Estonia, Norway and New Zealand as well as extensively in the UK including two runs at the Soho Theatre London, and another sell out run at Edinburgh Fringe 2016.

In addition to his solo comedy/cooking shows George has been a sought-after stand-up comedian for the last two decades taking his brand of far-reaching humour to Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, France, Norway, New Zealand, Hong Kong and even India, both on stage and on the television. He has also supported the likes of Lee Mack, Micky Flanagan and Jack Dee on tour.

“A hilarious show, with surprisingly good food.” The Times

PIERRE NOVELLIE

@pierrenovellie

One of the biggest, friendliest and funniest of bears working in the UK today, Pierre's comedy is a wonderful mix of Izzard-esque surrealism, erudite scholarship and daft day-to-day observational comedy.

Pierre is a regular correspondent in BBC2’s The Mash Report hosted by Nish Kumar and performed on the most recent series of Stand Up Central on Comedy Central. He previously had a regular role in the three-part Channel 4 Comedy Blap, Outsiders, as well as appearing as a guest on Frank Skinner’s Radio 4 panel show The Rest is History.

An acclaimed live act, Pierre has supported Hal Cruttenden and Gary Delaney on their national tours and was nominated for Best Club Comic at the 2017 Chortle Awards for two years running. His previous Edinburgh shows have been well received by both audience and critics alike, with his latest show being announced as the seventh best reviewed comedy show across the entire Edinburgh Festival in 2017.

Jen is a comic who is finally getting the recognition she deserves after years of acing it on the circuit.  Whether mining her Spanish heritage, life as a new Mum with her partner or unleashing her laser-guided sights on modern life, she's never anything less than hilarious.  It should be no surprise that she was one of the top contenders for the Comic's Comic Award in 2017.  She has performed stand up in clubs all over the country (literally) as well as sketch comedy in numerous groups including the Loose Connection. Most recently Jen has appeared on BBC2’s Live at the Apollo. Lee Ridley - aka Lost Voice Guy - is a completely unique performer on the UK circuit as he is the only stand-up to perform using a communication aid.  Born with cerebral palsy, Lee has been unable to communicate using his vocal chords and so instead turn to an aid.  More importantly, Lee has been born funny, playing with an audience's discomfort expertly to upturn expectations and poke fun at society's perceptions of disability, as well as taking the piss out of himself as well.  In just five years of performing Lee has been crowned BBC New Act of the Year, had a sitcom commissioned by Radio 4 (Ability - out later this year) and supported Patrick Kielty and Ross Noble on tour.
